Work and Holiday in Australia
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of San Marino and the Government of Australia regarding the Agreement on visas/stay permits for participants in working holiday schemes entered into force on 1 January 2017.
This Agreement offers a maximum of 100 Australian citizens per year, aged between 18 and 31, the possibility to stay in San Marino for a period not exceeding 12 months, during which it will also be possible to work and/or study.
To apply, the applicant must have an Australian passport valid for longer than the intended period of stay and a Working Holiday visa or equivalent issued by a Schengen country, as San Marino does not issue visas.
The applicant must also hold a degree or have successfully completed at least two years of a degree course.
The Letter of Presentation issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs allows the applicant to obtain a stay permit valid for the authorised period. If the applicant finds a job, he/she will also be granted a temporary work permit.
The permits issued by San Marino may not exceed the duration of the Working Holiday visa.
The Vademecum below sets out the necessary steps for completing all the administrative procedures required by the San Marino authorities.
