On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of official relations between the Republic of San Marino and the Federative Republic of Brazil, this morning, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari, received at Palazzo Begni the Ambassador of Brazil to San Marino, Renato Mosca de Souza, accompanied by the Ambassador of San Marino to Brazil, Filippo Francini.
It was an opportunity to discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as possible forms of future collaborations in the fields of university, agriculture, economy and tourism.
Minister Beccari recalled the common cultural identity and values, on which the excellent state of existing relations is based. Indeed, Brazil was one of the first destinations of many San Marino immigrants, especially during the last century, and at the same time there are many citizens of Brazilian origin in San Marino.
Further evidence of the historical bond between San Marino and Brazil can be found in the appointment, exactly 100 years ago in 1924, of the first Honorary Consul of San Marino in Rio de Janeiro.
At the end of the meeting, several initiatives organized to celebrate the 40th anniversary of official relations were recalled, such as the exhibition by Brazilian artist Kobra and the related artwork dedicated to this anniversary, the exhibition at the Stamp and Coin Museum, the fashion show of the Cesena fashion school on Anita Garibaldi’s dress preserved at the State Archives of San Marino and lastly the concert held yesterday evening by the singer Fafa de Belem.
